Court of Appeals Win

Johnny Ellis saved his clients’ inheritance in property valued at over $350,000. Heirs in Williamson County were about to loose their share of an inheritance in a valuable tract of land.

“Some of my client’s cousins were claiming ownership to the land by quasi adverse possesion or ‘squatters rights’” Explained Ellis.

“Most of my clients were minors while the cousins were squatting. The trial judge agreed with my opponents, but the Court of Appeals decided that you cannot begin to divest a 6 year old of his inheritance to land by prescription, (squatters rights) until he turns 18.”
